Chrome ad blocker to go live on 15 Feb

Google has named 15 February as the go-live date for its Chrome ad blocker. From that date, Chrome will block ads that don’t meet the Coalition for Better Ads’ Better Ads Experience Program. Specifically, Chrome will remove all ads from sites that have a “failing” status in the Ad Experience Report for more than 30 days.

The move follows Google’s announcement in June that would begin to support the Better Ads Standards in early 2018. Violations of the Standards are reported to sites via the Ad Experience Report, and site owners can submit their site for re-review once the violations have been fixed.
