Android Market has clocked up its 10 billionth download. The milestone occurred at the weekend. According to a post on the Google blog from Eric Chu, director, Android Developer Ecosystem, downloads are currently running at the rate of 1bn per month.

To celebrate the milestone, Google has partnered with some of the Android developers who have contributed to it to offer a bunch of Android apps for just 10 cents each. Today’s line-up includes Asphalt 6 HD, Color & Draw for Kids, Endomondo Sports Tracker Pro, Fieldrunners HD, Great Little War Game, Minecraft, Paper Camera, Sketchbook Mobile, Soundhound Infinity and Swiftkey X. The promotion runs for the next 10 days.
