Burning Up the Charts

The Kindle Fire has almost doubled its share of the Android Tablet market over the past two months, according to the latest data from comScore's Device Essentials service, which reports on digital traffic by device. In December 2011, the Fire held a 29.4 per cent share, which had increased to 54.4 per cent by February 2012.

Next most popular was Samsung's Galaxy Tab family of Tablets, holding a market share of 15.4 per cent, which were pushed, presumably, by the growth of Amazon's device down from 23.8 per cent in December.

The figures also show the effect screen size has on page views - and unsurprisingly, bigger is better. 10″ tablets have a 39 per cent higher consumption rate than 7″ tablets, and 58 per cent higher than 5″ tablets.
