Domino's Takes £130,000 of Mobile Orders in a Day

Domino’s Pizza enjoyed a record day for online sales last Saturday, 8 October, taking over £1m in sales through its various web platforms. Of this, 13 per cent, or £130,000, was taken through mobile devices.

“When we launched online ordering just over a decade ago, it was a huge investment, but one that has continued to pay off, year on year,” says Domino’s chief executive, Chris Moore. “To put this achievement in context, 12 years ago we took £100,000 in online sales in a year, by 2000 we were taking £1m in a year and now we are taking £1m in a day.”

Domino’s mobile offerings include iPad and Android apps, and a mobile-optimised site, all of which are transactional.
