seeker Comes to the UK

Business and residential directory service app seeker has launched in the UK. The free iOS and Android apps complement a web service, all of which provide a searchable database of business and residential listings.

Businesses will have their details verified and added automatically by seeker over the coming months. Alternatively, if they don't want to wait, businesses create a free listing, including address, telephone number, and opening hours, or pay for a 'seeker plus' account, to add images and links to social media channels.

“The seeker app will make it easier than ever before for customers to find a business while they are out and about,” says seeker CEO Klaus Mapara. “Research from Google and Ipsos shows that 95 per cent of smartphone users look for local information while on the go, 77 per cent of those users contacted the business either visiting the store or calling it - and almost half of those went on to make a purchase.”

The app also features information on Transport for London's Barclays Bicycle Hire service, informing users where their nearest bike station is and how many bikes and stations are free to use. And, following in the footsteps of every app launching this summer, seeker will feature information on the London Olympics Games.
