KLM introduces emoji directions service on Messenger

The flag carrier airline of the Netherlands, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has introduced an emoji service to add to the post-booking Facebook Messenger integration that it introduced almost a year ago.

The new KLM service informs travellers in new locations about their nearest restaurants, bars, ATMs, taxi ranks, and more. It shows the user directions to the destination of their choice simply by sending the relevant emoji and their location on Messenger.

“We believe we should be where our customers are and therefore KLM and Messenger are the perfect fit. Since March last year we offer our customers the option to receive all relevant flight documentation and information in one single Messenger overview,” said Tjalling Smit, SVP of eCommerce for Air France-KLM.

“KLM flies people all over the world and knows how difficult it can be to quickly find your way in unknown places, and therefore offering this new emoji service is a logic next step.”
