Invitation only. Register now for the networking party on the 26 February, 2013.
The finalists for the Barca Starta competition, taking place in Barcelona on 26 February, have been selected. We were aiming to whittle down almost 50 entries to 20 finalists. In the event, we got down to 27 before deciding we could not decide further between them, so the judges’ task in choosing the winner will be even more difficult than we envisaged.
The finalists are: 24-7XS, Adgibbon, App Camp, Appnique, Appscend, Appsnack, BIG Launcher, BroadForward, Digital Giving, FishBrain, iMediaShare, LoopMe, mCash, Mobisit, MobinLife, MPme, Nexmo, Open Signal, Qriously, Rednote, Speaking Pal, Stuffle, Taggzy, Tellyo, Touchalize, Web Crumbz and Warply.
They will each have two minutes to pitch to the judging panel, explaining why their company should win. The judging panel is made up of Sienne Veit, head of mobile at Morrisons; Michael Bayle, senior vice president and GM, Mobile, at ESPN; John Occhipinti, a partner at VC firm, Relay Ventures, and Mobile Marketing editor, David Murphy.
On offer to the winner is a cash prize, plus exposure in Mobile Marketing’s print and online editions in the form of editorial coverage and free advertising. And all the finalists, of course, will benefit from exposure to the VCs who are attending the event.
