Proximity marketing and payments company Proxama has announced a strategic partnership with beacon hardware firm Kontakt.io, with the aim of strengthening its ability to deliver out-of-home mobile campaigns at scale.

Kontakt.io is one of the beacon suppliers for Googles new open beacon format, Eddystone, and is a leading global provider of beacon hardware and proximity solutions.

The partnership will enable Kontakt.ios solution to operate with Proxamas TapPoint marketing platform, enabling brands to deliver digital experiences based on users physical context and location in real-time, increasing engagement and app retention.

The announcement follows Proxamas recent wave of high-profile beacon installations, including deployments in seven UK airports and on 500 buses across London to deliver marketing messages to consumers.

“With the recent news about Googles new Eddystone open beacon format, the proximity marketing sector is set to accelerate even quicker,” said Jon Worley, CEO of Proxamas proximity marketing division. “We have already anticipated that future requirements for beacon hardware will definitely evolve over the coming months and therefore spent a lot of time researching the best beacon technology options available, as finding the right partner was essential to our ambitious plans.

“Kontakt.io supplies a high quality product which will not only bring us increased capabilities, but also will provide us with the ability to deliver highly effective scalable mobile campaigns across the Proxama Network, at the same time enabling cost efficiencies.”
