Samsung Gear VR BrowserSamsung has launched Samsung Internet for Gear VR, a web browser optimised for its virtual reality headset, in beta.

The browser dramatically widens the content available to users of the Gear VR – Samsungs headset which works by inserting one of the manufacturers compatible smartphones as a display –with support for 360° and 3D video streaming, as well as any HTML5 video.

To keep it hands-free, web addresses can be input using voice recognition, and a Gaze Mode enables users to select menus by simply looking at them.

The app launches just as the Gear VR is released in the UK, at an RRP of £80.
