2021 Award Winners: Grand Prix, plus Digital Expert Awards

The winners of the Effective Digital Marketing Awards were announced last Friday at an online Awards Ceremony attended by over 250 people.

Over the next few days, we’ll be profiling the winning campaigns, starting today with the Grand Prix Award and the two Digital Expert awards…

Grand Prix
Médecins Sans Frontières UK and Crafted – The COVID-19 Appeal
This brilliant campaign also took the award for the Most Effective Pandemic Campaign. At a time when many traditional fundraising activities were not possible because of the pandemic, the charity and the agency nonetheless set themselves ambitious targets of raising £1m from digital channels and £3.5m from all sources.
The campaign used a combination of display, press, direct mail, TV, search and social, including advertising during livestreams of the UK Government’s press briefings on YouTube. It also involved whitelisting MSF’s account to use Coronavirus terms in the advertising. Users who had not donated for a 14-day period were retargeted to encourage donations.

The campaign bust both its donation targets, clocking up £4.4m in total and ending as the highest driver of donations in MSF’s history.

Judges’ View: ‘A sophisticated and comprehensive campaign that ticked all the boxes.”

Digital Expert of the Year, UK, EMEA & APAC –  Leadfamly
The Digital Expert of the Year Awards are given to the companies that get the best delegate feedback over the course of the year when they speak at Masterclassing events. All the feedback is collated and analysed in order to choose the winner.
The UK, EMEA and APAC Award went to Leadfamly, which runs a SaaS gamification platform used by many top brands to entertain and engage with customers and prospects.

Here are a few delegate comments about Leadfamly:
” This was a really enjoyable session and very relevant to my needs. I have since looked at their website with the intent of getting in touch.

“My favourite presentation! I thought this was not only a fantastic product and service but the stats and the examples shown were very interesting!”

“This was the most interesting session for me, offering plenty of interaction and good examples. The presentation and discussion were short, but hit the right spot.”

Digital Expert of the Year, North America – Jebbit
The North American Award went to Jebbit, which wants to create a future of total data transparency between brands and consumers. Their mission is to make every experience assumption-free by asking people explicitly and directly about their interests, motivations, and preferences.

Delegates at our events had this to say about Jebbit:

“The presenter shared a compelling high-level overview of a key trend in eCommerce and I am looking forward to sharing the insights with my team.”

“Excellent discussion, time well spent.”
