3 Goes 4G, Drops Roaming Charges in US

Roaming stock3 has started to roll out its 4G network in the UK, with a selected group of customers receiving an upgrade to the high-speed network.

The deployment will accelerate in January, with all compatible devices able to access the network at no extra cost by the end of Q1, 2014. The operator aims to reach 50 cities by the end of 2014, and 98 per cent of the population by the end of 2015.

The news came as 3 extended the Feel at Home roaming service it first launched in August, which enables subscribers to use their UK tariffs abroad, to four more destinations – most notably the US, but also Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Macau.
