Adobe aims to streamline video production with Project Rush

Adobe has launched Project Rush, a new piece of video editing software that takes core features from various parts of its Creative Cloud suite, including Premier Pro, After Effects and Audition, and combines them into a single, easy-to-use tool.

Set to be launched later this year (most likely in October at the companys Max conference), Project Rush is designed to work on any device, from high-powered desktop computers to smartphones, and is clearly targeted at YouTube creators and similar influencers who are looking for a more light-weight but still comprehensive solution that enables them to edit on the move.

The software includes features like colour correction powered by Premier Pro and audio auto-detection from Audition, and has a focus on social sharing, with one-click posting across multiple networks.

Adobe has also announced a series of significant updates across its creative tools, with new features for its Lightroom CC ecosystem, a public beta for Adobe Spark Post for Android, and new time-saving features and enhancements for Adobe XD.

The firm also revealed that it was once again joining forces with Microsoft, this time to make it easier for creative agencies and their clients to quickly and easily share draft work, proposals and other information. Microsoft SharePoint and OneDrive will integrate more easily with Adobes software, enabling users to save and store projects as high-quality PDFs that preserve the original fonts, formatting and layouts without leaving Microsofts ecosystem.
