Amazon Launches Wallet App in Beta

Amazon has launched the beta version of its Amazon Wallet app on the Google Play Store and its own Appstore.
The app offers users a way of storing physical loyalty, gift and membership cards in a digital form, which can then be accessed via the app as a barcode, QR code, text or image, or online along with all of the other payment methods stored by Amazon, though theres no way of accessing these
Gift cards from partnered retailers will also show their current balance, and the cards can be protected using a PIN code. 
The wallet has received a quiet launch, without any official announcement from Amazon, and the Android version currently has less than 500 users.
