BuzzFeed partners with Walmart and Jet for Tasty mCommerce

BuzzFeed Tasty Walmart JetBuzzFeed has teamed up with Walmart and Jet to give users of its Tasty food social network the ability to order products directly from within the Tasty app.

With the integration, powered by mobile commerce partnership platform Button, users viewing any of Tasty’s over 2,000 recipe videos will be provided with direct links to kitchen tools, bakeware, and appliances that will be needed to create the dish. From next year, users will also be able to order the groceries needed directly from the app through services Walmart’s online grocery pickup.

“With the increased blending of content and commerce, this partnership represents a natural combination of the two on mobile in a way that is exciting for customers, serving yet another way Tasty, Walmart and Jet are evolving the shopping experience to meet customers where they are?—?no matter when or how they want to shop,” said Natalie Gerke, head of corporate communications at Button, in a blog post. “With Button’s technology and expertise in app-to-app partnerships, Tasty is able to drive users directly into the respective Walmart.com and Jet.com apps to complete their transaction.”
