CBeebies releases interactive stories to app

CBeebies has released 10 new interactive stories to its Storytime app from celebrated childrens authors including current Waterstones Childrens Laureate Cressida Cowell MBE, Destynee Onwochei, and Olly Pike.

Available free on app stores, CBeebies encourages a love of stories in early years and supports literacy, vocabulary, and reading skills.

Developed with the help from the UKs largest childrens reading charity, BookTrust the app has been updated to make it easier to use for little ones, with a brand new look and stories full of playful interactions.

Along with Storytime, CBeebies has three other free apps – Get Creative, Go Explore, and Playtime Island – all giving children a place to explore, play and enjoy a fun learning experience with their favourite CBeebies characters.

There’s also a children’s experience on BBC iPlayer, providing youngsters with a safe place to watch their favourite shows and discover new ones.

“CBeebies Storytime is all about inspiring a love of stories for every child – something that’s so crucial for improving literacy, vocabulary, and reading skills,” said Executive Editor at BBC Childrens, Rachel Bardill. “Whether it’s ramping up morning energy levels to prime minds for learning, or to help wind down at the end of the day, there’s stories for everyone and every occasion. We’re excited to be bringing lots of great stories to the app from some incredibly talented authors and illustrators, and we hope there’s some new favourites that little ones, parents, and guardians will all enjoy.”
