EE Gifts Customers with Portable Smartphone Charger

EE Power BarUK mobile network EE is set to give all its active customers on mobile and broadband plans a free portable smartphone charger which can either be recharged at home or swapped in-store once it has been used.

The scheme, EE Power, was based off of research that suggests nearly 60 per cent of UK smartphone users claim their battery doesnt last a full day, while over half of smartphone users wish there were more ways to charge their phone in public places, a figure that rises to over 70 per cent among 18 to 24 year olds.

EE customers will be able to pick up a free Power Bar in EE stores by requesting a unique code via text, and once the Power Bar has been used to charge a device, customers can either recharge the bar for another use, or simply swap it for another fully-charged replacement in any EE store.

“Almost everyones experienced the frustration associated with running out of battery and it always seems to happen when you need your phone the most,” said Pippa Dunn, chief marketing officer at EE. “With EE Power, were trying to help by giving our customers a Power Bat that can simply be swapped for a fully charged one at any of our stores, at any time, for free.”
