EE Investing £275m to Improve Calls and Test Voice over LTE

EEEE has set aside £275m of its £1.5bn network investment to improve call quality for its existing customers and test VoIP services.

The company will be upgrading more than 5,000 2G sites and will increase capacity at 5,500 3G sites. EE is also trailling VoLTE and voice over wi-fi services.

This follows a year where, as well as driving the rollout of 4G, the company has already upgraded 11,000 of its 2G sites and doubled capacity at 7,000 3G sites.
