Giraffe Trials NFC for Advent Giveaway Campaign

Image for PRTesco-owned restaurant chain Giraffe is trialling NFC (Near Field Communication) technology in some of its London locations, as part of a digital advent giveaway campaign.

Table talker promotional materials in selected restaurants have been embedded with NFC chips, along with a printed QR code, which when scanned take customers to a webpage to redeem a reward – including offers, eBooks and physical gifts – which will change on a daily basis.

The campaign is powered by technology from proximity marketing company TAMOCO.

“As early adopters of QR code technology and now with our loyalty app reaching its 15,000th member, working with NFC was a natural step forward for us,” said Giraffe co-founder Juliette Joffe. “If this trial at our London sites is a success, we will look to bring NFC into future marketing campaigns going into 2014.”
