Macalla Powers Mobile Banking Solution

Mobile payment solutions company Macalla has announced the launch of permanent tsbs mobile banking solution powered by the Macalla Platform. permanent tsb is the retail banking division of Irish Life & Permanent plc formed by the merger of Irish Permanent and Irish Life in April 1999.
Customers register for Text Banking via permanent tsbs Open24 service. All they need to do is supply their mobile phone number and provider, and nominate their default permanent tsb account. A 5-digit security access code is then sent by SMS. This code is used by the customer to confirm any future transactions.
There are six services currently available. Customers can request a balance enquiry; request a mini statement; transfer funds between their own permanent tsb accounts; pay a utility bill; top up their mobile phones pre-pay credit; or request a text alert for a lodgement of  1,500 (1,200) or more, a withdrawal of 1,000 or more, or when recent transactions have brought the available balance below a certain level (minimum 100)
We choose Macalla because of its combined mobile and banking experience, says Tim Bicknell, Head of Current Accounts and Online Development at permanent tsb. Our decision was a wise one as at each phase of the project their expertise was invaluable. An initial mobile top-up service was successfully launched in December 2007 and has proven to be a popular service with our customers.
