Fitness tracking hardware and software firm Misfit has revealed Flash, an activity tracker aimed at entry-level consumers unsure about investing in a costly wearable device.
The Flash wearable is a reworking of its original Shine activity monitor, designed for durability and available for half the price, at $50 (£30). Crafted from soft-touch plastic and polycarbonate, the wearable displays progress towards your daily goals as a halo of lights, as well as telling the time.
The wearable, which as well as coming as a watch can be worn on lapels. shirts, pockets or as a necklace, measures daily activity and sleep, and syncs with smartphones to provide step counts, distance traveled and calorie burn.
Last week, the company debuted a developer toolkit aimed at bringing a variety of connected fitness trackers and wellness apps together into a single unified platform. The company is working with over 30 active partners to integrate its activity and sleep tracking capabilities into their product offerings.
