MWC: Panasonic Power Up

Panasonic has unveiled the ELUGA power, a premium version of the ELUGA smartphone it announced last year. Running Android 4.0, the NFC-capable handset features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.5GHz processor, and a 5″ 1280×720 HD LCD screen.

Panasonic isnt exactly renowned in these parts as a mobile handset manufacturer, having not released any smartphones in Europe since 2005 – apparently, the company is hoping the ELUGA series will be its trumphiant return to the market.

“The ELUGA power is a real landmark for us,” says Toshiya Matsumura, general manager, head of mobile communications, Panasonic Europe. “For too long, smartphones have either compromised on looks to embrace new features or dropped functionality in the pursuit of the perfect form.  The ELUGA power delivers both high performance and high-end style.”
