P2 Games has announced a partnership with HIT Entertainment which will see the first Bob the Builder and Fireman Sam mobile games developed.
The deal marks the first time HIT's pre-school boys' brands will be available on the mobile platform, and the games will be released by the end of 2011. The apps will initially launch on the Apple Store for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users, with the prospect of Android and other mobile platforms to follow, says the company.
Gerry Whiteside, co-director of P2 Games, says: "We are delighted to be collaborating with HIT Entertainment on such high-profile brands as Fireman Sam and Bob the Builder. This partnership is a great compliment to our continually expanding portfolio of high-quality brands and will strengthen our position as a key publisher for kids' mobile games. We are confident that the apps will be successful additions to both brand propositions and look forward to sharing them with pre-schoolers across the globe this winter."
The new apps will target pre-school children with a range of activities with varying difficulty settings, to enable even the youngest children to pick up and play without the need of parental guidance.
"We're extremely pleased to be teaming up with P2 Games to launch our first ever interactive game apps for Fireman Sam and Bob the Builder," says Natasha Fishman, senior VP of global brand management and digital media at HIT Entertainment. "The partnership indicates the next stage of development for both properties and demonstrates our commitment to expanding HIT's key brands across digital platforms."
