Samsung Partners With Trek Bicycle to Bring Wearables to Cyclists

trek samsungSamsung Electronics has continued its expansion into the world of wearable technology by announcing a partnership with bicycle manufacturer Trek Bicycle.

Targeting both professional and casual cyclists, Samsung and Trek hope to enrich the cycling experience using the fitness and healthcare features of Samsungs mobile devices, as well as enhancing performance and enjoyment.

As part of the partnership, Samsung with collaborate with the Trek Factory Racing Team, Trek Bicycles professional cycling team who compete on the UCI World Tour. Starting with the Tour de France, Samsung will provide the team with mobile devices including the Gear portfolio of wearables to advance their training and cycling experiences.

Using the wearable devices, Samsung and Trek will work together to monitor the teams health and fitness levels, while using tablets to strategise, communicate and plan in-race routes. The feedback Samsung receives from the racing team will then be reflected in its future product development.
