SIM Card Show Announced

SIMalliance, the association of SIM card vendors, has announced plans for SIMposium 2007, the first in a series of international conferences and exhibitions focused on SIM card technology. The event is scheduled to take place in Berlin on 24 and 25 April 2007. It will bring together leading players in the SIM card ecosystem, in order to debate the latest trends in mobile services and architectures; identify new business opportunities; and view demonstrations of the latest and most successful live mobile services and content.
SIMposium 2007 is aimed at marketing managers, business development managers, market and product managers, service designers and SIM managers across the entire mobile value-chain. SIMAlliance says that representatives from operators, handset manufacturers, application and content providers, hardware and software vendors, brand and media communities, and integrators have already informed the programme committee, the newly created body in charge of the conference agenda and format, of their commitment to attend.
Key industry players already confirmed include Jean-Christophe Tisseuil, Head of Marketing, BU Telecommunication at SAGEM-Orga; Lars-Erik Sellin, CTO at SmartTrust; Eytan Pisetzky, VP Marketing MNO Division at M-Systems; Cedric Mangaud, CEO of Abaxia; and Jais Lidlgruber Agertoft, Technology Manager at Nokia.
Topics under discussion will include fixed/mobile convergence, contactless services, Mobile TV, machine-to-machine applications, MVNOs (Mobile Virtual network Operators), brand strategies, and services/content differentiation.
SIMposium 2007 answers the numerous calls weve heard from the major players across the mobile eco-system, says SIMalliance Chairman Christophe Dolique. “Our aim is to create a genuine forum for debate, strong enough to engage todays increasingly diverse mobile community as technologies fuse together to create exciting opportunities.
