Sport Relief Launches Mobile-first Make Every Mile Count Campaign

Sports ReliefSport Relief has launched the mobile-first Make Every Mile Count campaign in the run up to the charity’s activity weekend, which takes place in March.

The iOS and Android app helps users get active by counting the miles they spend swimming, walking, cycling and running. Once they reach certain key milestones, they get access to exclusive content, including videos from athletes cheering them on.

The campaign, created by Hi Mum! Said Dad, also includes a responsive website where users can log in and continue using the dashboard in the same way. Donations can be made with three taps in-app, with the user directed to their SMS client with the relevant fields already filled in. The app also has a clock counting down the days to the event itself.

This is not the first app created by Sport Relief but goes much further in terms of creating an experience that people will actually use. The app tracks your location in order to count your sports activity completed. Users are encouraged to log in with their social accounts, giving them the opportunity to share the experience with their friends, but can opt not to.

Sainsbury’s are sponsors of the Sport Relief Games Weekend on 21 to 23 March.
