Taco Bell Testing Ordering App to Make Fast Food Faster

US fast food chain Taco Bell is testing an app that enables customers to order in advance from their mobile devices.

According to Nations Restaurant News, Taco Bell initially started work on the app two and a half years ago. More recently, it has performed a small beta test at five locations in Californias Orange County, and a wider test will be opening up in the next few weeks.

A national roll out is expected later this year.

“Mobile is the biggest shift in QSR (Quick Service Retail) since the drive-through,” said Jeff Jenkins, mobile lead at Taco Bell. “If you can get 10m people to download your app, you’re putting a portal to Taco Bell in 10m pockets.”
