Cascada Mobile says it is enjoying healthy take-up of its TAG Referral Engine in the US to enable referral distribution of content by mobile users to their friends and family. Hands-On Mobile, Punch Entertainment and ZWorkbench  are among the mobile content publishers using the TAG Referral Engine.
Hands-On Mobile has integrated TAG into its recently-launched Fantasy Football Companion by CBS SportsLine. Gunslinger, a western-style shooter game from Punch Entertainment, will include referral distribution capabilities when it launches this quarter on Cingular. And the recently-released Yamaha Musicians Companion from ZWorkbench uses TAG to build on what Cascada calls the inherently social nature of musicians.
The TAG Engine works by enabling consumers to easily refer mobile phone applications, such as games, to friends and family. It uses advanced business logic to deliver the appropriate application version onto the recipients phone in only a few clicks. 
Using the TAG Engine software development kit (SDK), publishers integrate the referral functionality directly into applications. Once a consumer downloads a TAG-embedded application, it can be recommended to friends, regardless of the recipients wireless provider or handset type, by selecting the Tell-a-friend menu option. The TAG Engine notifies recommendation recipients and automatically determines the compatible application version and download location for the mobile device and operator in question.  TAG uses existing carrier and publisher infrastructure, as well as open standards to ensure the entire referral process, including payment for downloads on accepted referrals, is seamless.
