Tesco Launches Mobile Banking App

Tesco Banking app 3Tesco has launched a mobile banking app for iOS and Android, designed to expand its current account proposition and enable customers to manage their money when and where they want, safely and quickly.

The two apps were developed separately to take advantage of the unique advantages of each operating system, and have placed the customer experience at the heart of their design. Features include a transaction calender that enables users to track their monthly income and outgoings, the ability to download monthly statements and a location-based feature that enables users to find the closest Tesco ATM.

While current account customers are the primary focus of the app, existing customers with credit cards, savings or loan accounts through Tesco can also manage these through the app.

“In my experience, the approach we are taking to mobile differs from other financial services businesses,” said Grant Bourbousson, digital director of Tesco Bank, in a blog post about the launch. “Our approach will allow us to further develop and improve our service at the pace we wish to set, unconstrained by third parties, to ensure that we continue to meet the digital expectations of our customers.

“I am extremely proud of the banking apps that we have developed, of the effort that has gone into creating an intuitive user experience and hopefully weve been able to introduce a bit of fun for customers through our sign-up process and carousel too.”
