TikTok partners with The Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation

TikTok is partnering with The Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation, to help bring Stephens story and the important work the Foundation does to the TikTok community.

In honour of this important day, TikTok is hosting a live memorial concert featuring musical performances from The CompozersRay BLK and Alicai Harley and a live poetry reading from artist, music producer and songwriter Max Cyrus; hosted by DJ & presenter Yinka Bokinni.

Users can tune in at 7pm tonight via the app to watch the live performances and commemorate Stephens life. The memorial concert will feature a final statement by Stephens mother, Baroness Doreen Lawrence.

TikTok is also launching a hashtag challenge #LiveYourBestLife. The platform is asking their community to show how Stephens story has inspired them to #LiveYourBestLife and feel empowered to make the most of everyday opportunities.

As well as uploading their own video, users will be able to watch contributions of famous faces, including footballer Ian Wright, author and lawyer Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu and comedian and presenter Judi Love, wholl be posting their own inspiring content to support this cause.

“We are honoured to be partnering with the Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation and to be spotlighting the legacy of Stephen to our community” said Community, Programme & Events Manager at TikTok, Janay Marie. “Music is a powerful way to unite and inspire and we hope to do just that through this live stream, educational content in the app and the #LiveYourBestLife challenge, whilst also commemorating Stephen and celebrating the important work the Foundation does in fighting for a fairer society for all.”
