Vodafone Mobile Clicks Countdown Is On

If you’re planning to enter the Vodafone Mobile Clicks 2011 competition, you only have three weeks to do so.

Vodafone Mobile Clicks is an international contest to identify and develop the best, most innovative mobile internet start-ups. Any new company with a mobile site, service or app in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, the Republic of Ireland, Spain and Turkey can take part. The entry deadline is midnight on 12 June, CET.

This year’s judging panel includes Rudy de Waele, founder of Mobile 2.0 Europe and dotopen; Peter Barry from Vodafone Ventures; Paul Jozefak, Mobile VC; Reshma Sohoni, partner at Seedcamp; and Lee Epting from Vodafone Group. Each judge will be scoring entries based on six criteria: originality; creativity and innovation; technical and operational feasibility; economic and financial viability; value to end-users; and the quality of the management team.

Last year’s winner was Cardmobili. Since winning the competition, the company has launched a Windows Phone 7 version of its app, translated it into French and Spanish, and seen its user base increase by 80 per cent.

In total, there is a €225,000 (£200,000) prize fund up for grabs. The winner gets €150,000, with €50,000 for  the runner-up and €25,000 for company finishing in third place.
