Workshop Considers PhonepayPlus Code

The Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF) is staging a regulatory workshop in London tomorrow (Tuesday 21 July). Among the participants will be PhonepayPlus, which will be seeking industry input and feedback on the pre-consultation discussion paper for its 12th Code.
The UKs phone-paid services regulator is asking for substantive comments by 1 August, although the discussion will be ongoing, as the formal consultation will not kick off until the Autumn.
Following MEFs workshops on the CAP/BCAP Code and Ofcom Scope Review, the session will be hosted by international law firm and MEF member Denton Wilde Sapte and is open to all MEF members. Head of Industry Support & Policy at PhonepayPlus, Mark Collins, will be presenting and taking questions.
We now have a great window of opportunity to work with PhonepayPlus and Ofcom to ensure that the current regulatory regime evolves to meet the needs of consumers, while also supporting an innovative and dynamic mobile entertainment industry, says MEF Policy and Initiatives Director, Suhail Bhat.
The event takes place at Denton Wilde Saptes offices at 1, Fleet Place, London EC4M from 9am 12 noon. To register to attend the workshop, email Sarah Roberts at the MEF: sarah@m-e-f.org
