Zynga Brings FarmVille to Mobile, Finally

Zynga is bringing its social game FarmVille to mobile for the first time as part of a mobile-focused initiative that will also see updates to its Words With Friends and Zynga Poker apps.
FarmVille 2: Country Escape uses a Connected Rewards system which enables players to carry their unlocks between the existing web version and mobile. The app will feature both online and offline play, and promises improved control over how you connect with friends and family – no doubt a relief to those of us who still remember being spammed with FarmVille invites from distant Facebook friends five years ago.
The three games are set for soft launches in selected markets, before rolling out globally in the coming months. 
The initiative is an attempt to turn around Zyngas recent fortunes. In 2012, the company cut headcount by a fifth and shutter OMGPOP, the mobile developer it bought for $210m just a year earlier.
