Global Bay Mobile Technologies has launched an iPad Kiosk for retailers. The solution transforms the iPad into a powerful in-store kiosk. Built on Global Bay’s patented mobile platform to synchronize and manage data, the kiosk product provides retailers with a new in-store channel to deliver content to the customer in an intuitive, efficient and sophisticated way.
The kiosk is quick to deploy solution and completely self-configurable; retailers have the ability to design, deploy and manage the entire kiosk application through an easy-to-use web management tool.
Features include consumer data collection; rotating images; videos and commercials; music; loyalty program and credit card processing; loyalty rewards account look-up; retailer’s website access; promotions and coupons; and usage tracking.
Two US companies have already successfully implemented the solution. The City Sports new concept store is using the product to route customers to product-related information such as the City Sports website, product and informational videos and news, and local specific content such as running clubs and other events.
“Global Bay’s Kiosk module is an extremely cost-effective option to enhance the City Sports customer experience, that also happens to be a solution our customers already know how to use,” says Dylan Bruntil, director of information technology at City Sports.
Things Remembered, a personalised gifts retailer, is using the GlobalBay technology in select stores to streamline a previously paper-based, in-store ordering process, by offering customers an interactive gift and personalisation solution on the iPad Kiosks. In the future, Things Remembered also plans to use the technology to offer customers real-time images of what final personalised products will look like.
“This innovative technology streamlines our order process and inspires our customers by prompting them with thousands of possible engraving messages,” says Amy Myers, vice president of creative services at Things Remembered. “This not only puts more personalisation options at our customers’ fingertips, but also reduces their overall transaction time. Ultimately, it allows us to showcase what we do best - personalised, thoughtful gifts - using the technology today’s consumers enjoy and embrace.”
