GSMA sets out its stance on MWC 2020

Companies who were due to exhibit at MWC 2020 will be entitled to at least a partial refund, GSMA CEO John Hoffman confirmed today,

The GSMA said that all attendee tickets will be refunded, while exhibitors who spent less than £5,000 have the choice of a full refund or 125 per cent credit that can be used over the next three years.

Those who spent more than £5,000 will receive half of the fees they have paid up to £150,000, or 125 per cent credit over the same three-year period.

Hoffman also expressed optimism from the mobile network operator community about next year’s event, but conceded that few had yet to sign up, saying: “We had 100 per cent broad-based support from our operator community… with several companies already singing up for MWC 2021…so SKT, Orange NTT DoCMo, they’ve already voiced their commitment. They haven’t signed yet , but what they’re saying is, let’s get this ecosystem back on track.”
